"Cyber Monday" sets a new record for spending

I hope you were part of this record day. The day after Thanksgiving is known as "Cyber Monday" and this year was an exceptional one.

Reuters is reporting this morning that shoppers spent a record $733 million! This was up over 21% over last years "Cyber Monday".

Online buyers rose 38 percent from a year ago and the data also showed that 60 percent of the money spent came from work computers!

The most trafficked sites came as no surprise; they included Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and Dell.

I have been real busy building a lot of shopping sites and blogs getting ready for "Cyber Monday" and it indeed payed off. It is not too late to get that shopping site up now.

Time to move over to Wordpress?

Everywhere I go I see WordPress and how much everyone loves it. Much to my dismay as I have said before I do not know PHP, MySQL or any other programing but I am going to do it!

I realize the benefits that WordPress has to offer. Caroline Middlebrook has talked about it quite a bit as well as Amy Bass moving her site over to WordPress. All the 'successful blogs' that I have noticed are all on WordPress. Courtney Tuttle has a great article about many different plug-ins that would make my life more proficient.

I'm looking forward to this new task and the increase in productivity. I go on the road the first of the year for 6 months and I need to streamline my business. With over 20 sites and 15 blogs and Squidoo lens it is a lot ot keep up with and I am adding more everyday!

Google + Oil = Great Opportunity!

Google's stock broke above $700 a share yesterday and it got me thinking. Oil too has risen to record levels and I can't help but think of the correlation here. Google is making unseen amounts of money and there is no limit for them right now.

That capitalizes into a great opportunity for those looking to make a living from home. Working from home saves money in many ways mainly saving on gas. So as more people work from home the demand goes down thus the price of oil goes up. This is my theory so please don't take me verbatim.

Even if you don't know how to read a stock chart, you can clearly see the price of Google going up and the black line behind the candlesticks is the relative price of oil to Google. You can clearly see they follow each other very close.

Bottom line, get your butt going and do something! What a great opportunity to make a living from home and it's only going to get better.

Is it time to automate?

I get so wrapped up in updating content and writing new content it has become very time consuming. I have 17 blogs now with relavent content for programs I am promoting and their website.

I do not know php, asp or any other programming. I know just enough HTML to get me by but I feel that's not enough in todays internet world.

There are so many programs and plug-ins that will automate the entire process but that takes the human element out of it. I am going to look at automating a few of my other blogs to free me up to pursue my 'Bum Marketing'.

Most of these automated programs take money and that is just not advisable right now. All money that I am earning is going right back into more domains and other small miscellaneous essentials like Wealthy Affiliate.

I can tell you that good old fashion 'Bum Marketing' does work. The site I did on the MRSA Superbug has placed in the top 10 of Google searches and did it in ten days. I didn't do anything fancy nor did I even submit it to Google. I haven't even done a sitemap for it. It is just a 4 page site that placed well and traffic has been wonderful.

So it can be done manually, but it will take you time and you have to be patient.

It can really get overwhelming at times reading all the blogs and forums out there not to mention the several hundred emails a day. There is an amazing amount of great information out there if you really take the time to look for it.

I have learned a lot from Amy Bass over the past few months and it has lead me to take control of my personal finances. Most of us are looking to make a living online from home usually because of our financial situation to begin with. Those that have the money to invest properly I'm sure have done very well.

Most everything I do is from the standpoint of no or very little cost. It will take longer as I know it really does take money to make money. Only two short years ago I was making a 6 figure income only to loose it all in a moment.

Take nothing for granted and never give up. There are many ways to get content for your favorite niche and many ways to get your site up for NOTHING! If you need something specific just drop me an email. I don't have all the answers and I will never claim to but I will never turn anyone away that asks for help.

I believe that inherently we all have the answers we seek, we just need someone to validate what we are looking for. I know that's what I do and if I do it then I'm sure there are others. It can be a dog eat dog world online but it's a big online world and anyone can succeed.

I am going to launch my next big project next week. I have been getting things together for it and I'm sure that you 'Bums' out there will like it. Yes I too am a 'Bum' and dam proud of it. Many others have followed the original 'Bum' Travis Sago and I intend to as well.

Don't be shy to ask for help!

Thinking you can do it all is for the birds! Pride goes along way but there are times when you need help. I have been putting off asking for the help that I needed for my quest to build my Empire. Today I decided to change that.

I joined up with Wealthy Affiliate after following it for a couple months. I must tell you that I am just blown away! The amount of information and intensive training that is available is mind blowing. If you are looking to get on the right track I must say that Wealthy Affiliate has it all to get you going in the right direction.

There is a lot of services out there and I went with my gut because it was so highly recommended by Travis over at Bum Marketing. So I guess that makes me a bum now!

I will be writing more on Wealthy Affiliate in the future as I get to know it better. I did a search for Wealthy Affiliate and found nothing of a negative nature. I feel confident that the $29.99 a month is going to be money well spent.

Twitter and ClipMarks

I got into twitter today with the intention to draw some interest. You can follow my twitter here or on the side. It's a neat way of letting others know what you are doing and in the meantime get free exposure.

Which is why I got into clipmarks as well. It is really a cool service that you can clip parts of a page and post your thoughts on it. Mean while linking back to your own site. You can follow me along here.

There is also a add-on for Firefox for these services. I have also added a few others that I will trying out of the next few days.

Coming up with Niche Ideas

Niche ideas tend to stump me a lot. I seem to be too analytical rather than just going with an idea and getting the site up. I was watching the news yesterday and they kept talking about this new deadly superbug that is killing more people than AIDS.

I did some brief research and came up with a really good domain and did a bit of research and threw up a new niche site in a few hours. The term as well as my domain gets about 1200 searches a month and I'm sure that will be on the rise.

Ideas for a niche site are everywhere! Simplify what you are doing, I try to look at it as if my wife was doing a search for something. She knows nothing about building websites but knows what she wants when she searches. If you have a spouse or children go into the history and see what they are looking for.

Another cool place I found for ideas was Dogpile SearchSpy. You can view in real time what everyone is searching for on their search engine. It will really give you some unique ideas to work from. You can choose from 'Filtered' or 'Unfiltered' results.

Keeping up

It's been awhile since I last posted here but mind you I have been very busy. Creating new niche sites and enhancing existing sites. My time has been limited over the last few weeks but I am making better use of my time.

In an attempt to speed up writing my articles for my sites I decided to try Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I don't know what I ever did without it. There is a small user curve but for just writing content it is wonderful.

I can read up on the subject I am looking to make a site on and then compose it in my own words. It works great for me, I just just sit back and relax and pretend I am talking to someone. It feels strange at first talking aloud to no one but it gets easier.

Hope your niche sites are going well. I am working on some freebies to give away.

The domains are adding up

I have picked up a few more domains now, up to a total of 18 domains. Of those 18, 7 are now live and up and running. I keep changing content as well as the templates of the sites. As I go along I am improving the appearance as well as the content of the sites.

I have run across several niche site now and have taken away great ideas for mine. It never hurts to borrow ideas but don't copy them verbatim. You can never have enough content for your sites, there is a lot of information out there to gather from. Rewrite what you learn in your own words.

Hope to apply to a few more affiliates, I would like to have the income spread around. I want to have multiple sources of income rather than having all my income from one source. Most affiliate sites want an established site so it does take time to get them.

Created a new niche today!

I created a new niche today! I'm not sure if I am doing this right or not but I used NicheTaxi to get an idea that had good potential. I found one that had a niche factor of 318%! The keyword is very high paying, $30.98.

I registered the site at Godaddy downloaded a template from OSWD and had the site uploaded in less than an hour! Check it out and let me know what you think. You can visit my newest site Firm Law Mesothelioma.com

The content is fed through Amazines so it always stays fresh. The only cost I incurred for the site was the $8.95 for the domain, and that covers it for the year!

Hopefully I can get this down to a science and put out a couple sites a day. I need to make sure that they make some cash first. I also submitted them to Google to get a jump start.

Approved for Adsense!

After 6 days I was finally approved for an Adsense account, yeah! I feel like a kid at Christmas time learning all these new things and getting approved for ways to make MONEY!

I spent time yesterday reading up on emails and I must give some advice here. DON'T sign up for every free offer and newsletter you run across. I have had to cancel some because I just get way too much information right now.

It is information overload out there and that is a wonderful thing but I found myself getting lost for hours reading everything and not getting anything done. The most important thing is just to get started and get a page up and change it up as you go along.

I have much to learn but it's exciting!

Making progress

After a long weekend spending time with my wife I am back on track. The website is now live and I am adding more to it all the time. I did apply with Google Adsense but have not heard back from them yet. I will probably apply for Yahoo's program too.

I did dig up a few old affiliate programs that I belonged to a long time ago and updated my information. Like Linkshare, Leading Edge Cash, LeadHound and a few others. I feel I need to develop my site(s) more before I apply to any more. I do want to get into Amazon as there is a lot to offer there.

Day 2 Progress

Well my account is setup at Godaddy to host my websites. I should be able to upload them today as it takes up to 24 hours for setup. I did manage to get a lot of reading and studying done yesterday.

It is amazing how much information there is available out there! Tons of free info vying to lure you in to buy their product. You can take advantage of all the free stuff as there is very useful information to be had.

Take for instance the case of HyperVRE. You can get a boat load of free information as well as the basic program which is loaded with features. I am looking into becoming a Gold member if I like what I see. Go here to see all the freebies and be sure to sign up for his free newsletter.

Today I plan to get the site up as I said as well as get a few affiliates.

Day 1 Progress

Yesterday was very productive. I got seven pages written up for MyFirstNicheSite.com. I took information from several sites and information I have bought. It is coming together very nicely.

Today I hope to have more pages written and my hosting setup through Godaddy. I can host unlimited sites for $6.99 a month. I can certainly afford that for now!

Welcome to My First Niche Site

Hello and welcome to my blog on 'My First Niche Site'. I am going to log my efforts as I do them as I build my empire of niche sites. That's right, EMPIRE!

My goal is to have 100 niche websites as soon as I can. Initially I will look to put up one niche website a week. Once I have the hang of the process I will double down my efforts making two or more a week.

I have a lot to learn but this 'ole boy is ready for it! I haven't been this excited since? Well, since my wife and I first met. That was good for a laugh but she knows I love her and this would not be possible without her unconditional support.
